Palmvale Red Brahmans is owned and operated by Kearin and Beth Streeter, and their 12 year old daughter Remy, and is situated at “Mt Slopeaway” ,Marlborough , in Central Queensland, just 109 klm north of Rockhampton, the Beef capital of Australia. The herd of 200 high quality stud cows are run on predominately coastal speargrass country, with the focus on QUALITY NOT QUANTITY, along with fertility, strong red colour and smooth coats, and plenty of natural meat and muscling.
The use of ET and IVF technology on the top 10% of our herd has been a major factor in the pursuit of excellence in our cow herd over the last 6 years. Being able to expand on our elite genetics has made a major contribution to our successes both in the show and sale ring over the last few years, culminating in the achievement of breeding the 2007 Rockhampton Feature Show and Royal National Show Champion in 2007, Palmvale Absolute Sting 2005. The sale of 22 registered bulls at the Annual Rockhampton Brahman Week sale in October 2007 for an average of $14167, and a top of $55000 for Palmvale Brooklyn, was another feather in our cap. We also achieved the top vendor gross earnings for the sale, of which we have been consistently in the top 10 averages over the last 10 years.
Our genetics have been in demand not only Australia wide, but globally as well, as the stud has exported live Heifers and embryos to Brazil, and approx. 40 heifers and bulls to Thailand so far. We have travelled to the USA on two occasions to source genetics which we think will suit and enhance our breeding program, and over the years have purchased many high priced sires in Australia, that have complemented our genetic goals.
We are excited about the direction of our stud and breeding program, and as the sign at our front gate states “ Visitors always welcome, Please Call in”.
