ABOUT PALMVALE
Palmvale Red Brahmans and Droughtmasters are a family owned operation running approx. 200 red Brahman and 60 Droughtmaster stud females, on 3000 acres of coastal type country at Marlborugh in Central Queensland, Palmvale is situated one hour north of Rockhampton, the Beef capital of Australia. We strive to breed fertile, gentle natured cattle, with excellent bone and carcase attributes, that will excel in any environment.
Palmvale joined the Australian Brahman Breeders’ Association (ABBA) as Stud No. 1985, coinciding with the year of its inception. The year 2025 marks 40 years of breeding high-quality Brahman cattle—a milestone by any measure.
The legacy of the stud continues with Remy Streeter, daughter of the late Kearin Streeter and Beth Streeter, who registered her own stud, Palmvale R Brahmans, in 2005. Remy shares the same passion for the Brahman breed, running approximately 30 stud cows on the family property.
Both Palmvale and Palmvale R Brahmans sell annually at the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale (RBWS), with Palmvale proudly holding one of the largest Red Brahman vendor allocations—offering 20 bulls each year.
The studs also participate in:
• The Big Country Brahman Bull and Female Sale in Charters Towers every February
• The Rocky All Stars Elite Brahman Female Sale in March, where Palmvale is an original vendor since the sale’s inception in 2007 (formerly known as the Fassifern Valley Brahman Female Sale)
Since 2017, Palmvale Droughtmasters have offered bulls at the Droughtmaster National Sale each September. Bulls and females from both breeds are also sold privately on-property throughout the year.
Artificial breeding is an integral part of the stud’s program. An AI program is run annually on all maiden heifers, providing the opportunity to incorporate elite outside genetics that enhance and complement the herd. While Embryo Transfer (ET) was widely used in the 2000s, the stud has since embraced IVF technology. IVF programs are now undertaken using proven females—those that have calved, successfully raised their young, returned in calf, and maintained excellent body condition, udders, and teat structure.

HISTORY
Palmvale Brahmans was started in 1985, by the late Kearin Streeter, after the death of his pioneer brahman breeding father Percy Streeter, who established the Fairy Springs Brahman Stud in the 1960’s. In 1989, Kearin met a girl called Beth, who also had strong connections to brahman cattle, as her parents had bought brahman stud females from the Walther and Turner families in the late 1960’s, and then moved to the Monto area where they had strong opposition from their neighbours initially, until people realized the benefit of crossbreeding over Hereford cattle. The move of the stud from Thangool to Marlborough took place in the year 2000, which enabled the Streeters to build their numbers using AI and ET, as well as grow their own hay.
Kearin had always been passionate about the Droughtmaster breed, leading to the decision in 2012 to begin purchasing heifers from prominent studs. Although Kearin sadly passed away in 2016 after a long illness, the stud continues to thrive under the management of Beth Streeter. With support from their daughter Remy, who shares a deep passion for Brahman cattle and has her own prefix, Palmvale R Brahmans the stud is in capable hands. Remy is also a qualified AI technician and a self-taught silversmith.

DROUGHTMASTERS
Our journey into breeding Droughtmasters, “Australia’s Own Breed,” began in 2012/13. My late husband, Kearin, had a lifelong admiration for pink-nosed cattle, a trait often seen in the early Red Brahmans bred in Australia.
We started by purchasing heifers from respected studs including Bryvonlea, Mungalla, Calioran, Billabong, Vale View, and Fernleigh. To kick off our AI program, we used semen from a bull named Vale View Ripper. In 2014, we acquired our first Droughtmaster sire, Oasis A Manu (PS), at the Droughtmaster National Sale.
Since then, we’ve continued to invest in high-quality sires — many in partnership with Redskin R Stud — all of which have helped shape the type of cattle we’re proud to breed: animals well-suited to our environment and breeding goals. Our coastal, phosphorus-deficient property demands smooth-coated, higher-content cattle. Traits such as temperament, good udders, and fertility are essential to us, and doability is non-negotiable.
We sold our first Droughtmaster bulls at the Droughtmaster National Bull Sale in 2017, achieving a top price of $30,000 for Palmvale Adam (PS). We’ve attended every DN sale since, reaching prices up to $42,500, and are steadily building a base of repeat clients — the backbone of any successful operation.

BREEDING VALUES
Our cattle are bred for growth, featuring strong bone structure, loose skin, and ample natural muscling. Ultimately, we’re in the business of breeding beef, and our clients benefit from weight-based returns—whether that’s at the meatworks or with weaner steers reaching market weight sooner at the saleyards. We believe bulls should present as sires, while females should embody true femininity. Temperament is essential, with no compromises, and cows with poor udders are immediately culled out of our breeding program.
