Palmvale Red Brahmans and Droughtmasters

PALMVALE RED BRAHMAN SIRES

Our personal style of cattle are growthy animals with plenty of bone, loose skin, and loads of natural muscling and meat.  Ultimately we are in the business of breeding beef, and our clients get paid on weight whether it be at the meatworks or their weaner steers reaching a certain weight earlier when selling through the saleyards.  We like bulls to look like sires, and females to be feminine.  Temperament is paramount and there are no compromises.

DESCRIPTION.

Samurai was purchased at Beef 2021 after stud principal Beth Streeter spotted him as a potential new sire for Palmvale while judging at the Marlborough Show a couple of weeks earlier. His length, bone, smooth skin, perfect feet and legs, and overall sire appeal—combined with our long-standing admiration for the integrity and breeding practices of Elmo Stud principals, Allan and Leonie Trail—made parting with $80,000 an easy decision.

Samurai has gone on to exceed every expectation. His progeny carry all the hallmarks of their sire, including his bombproof temperament and exceptional do-ability. His first sons sold to $30,000 at RBWS 2024, averaging $17,666, and daughters have sold to $10,000 at the Rocky All Stars Sale in 2025.

Semen is available in Australia, the USA, and is also eligible for export to Asian countries. Semen is available at Rocky Repro and can be ordered by contacting Kimberley via the button below.

DESCRIPTION.

On attending the Lancefield Invitational Sale in 2020 to inspect another bull, our good friend and excellent cattle judge, Renee Rutherford, pointed out Palmal Democrat—who turned out to be exactly what we were chasing for our herd. Sired by the $75,000 NCC Lord Delaware, a bull we had long admired, and out of a top donor cow, Democrat has gone on to produce soft, fleshy, extremely gentle-natured progeny with plenty of character and growth for age.

We successfully showed one of his female progeny, Palmvale Tina 4335, during the 2024/25 season, achieving 4 out of 5 Grand Champion Female titles. Palmvale Talladega (PS), a son of Democrat and our 2025 RBWS team leader, has been shown twice in 2025, winning Supreme Led Exhibit of the Show both times.

Purchased at the Big Country Sale in 2023, Kariboe Valley Warrego impressed us with his big head and muzzle, strong bone, loose skin, and overall softness. He has complemented our females very well, putting plenty of thickness into his calves. His first progeny will be offered at the Rocky All Stars Female Sale and the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale in 2026.

He has been joined to our light-pigmented cows this season, and we are excited to see the results.

D. PALMVALE MISS PRINCE 3800 (PS)
DESCRIPTION.

It’s not often that we keep one of our own, but the decision to retain Palmvale Springsteen was a no-brainer. From nose to toes, this young bloke oozes sire appeal and breed character. His bone, loose skin, and temperament are obvious reasons, but the track record of his dam, Palmvale Miss Prince 3800 (PS), made the decision easy. She has produced four calves in four years—her first, Palmvale Miss Prince 4176 (PS), sold to Reedybrook B Brahmans for $32,500. The Miss Prince cow line is one of our very best-producing lines of females, going back to a cow we purchased at the Burnside Stud dispersal in 1993.

Springsteen has been joined to 16 heifers, predominantly sired by Elmo Samurai (PS), and we await his first calves in September 2025.

DESCRIPTION.

We purchased Diddine Ashton privately as a used bull from Jody Boyd of Circle 8 Brahmans in Victoria, after following his progress on Facebook since he was originally purchased from Diddine Stud, NSW, as a youngster.

Ashton is a big, upstanding bull with a ton of grunt and breed character, which he consistently passes on to his progeny. His first sons will be offered at RBWS 2025 and display exceptional natural muscling, carcase attributes, strong bone, and sire appeal. His heifers are extremely feminine and beautifully shaped for future breeders. The first females will be offered for sale at Rocky All Stars 2026.

DESCRIPTION.

Jomanda Hackett, this powerhouse of a sire was purchased at Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale 2019 (RBWS 2019) for $30,000. He first caught our eye in a presale photo, and we instantly fell in love with his strong sire’s head, deep flank, and heavy bone. An in-the-flesh inspection at the sale confirmed he was coming back to Palmvale.

Bulls by Hackett have sold to $47,500, while his females are soft, fleshy matrons with excellent udders. As expected, he puts a beautiful head on everything he breeds.

Muan Woodrow was purchased at the February All Breeds Sale in 2021 for $45,000. After seeing the consistency of his sire, NCC Skoda, and the strength of his Muan Diane dam line, we were confident he would be an excellent addition to our sire battery.

Woodrow’s calves are born small, with strong heads and well-defined muscle patterns. They are shaping up to be excellent carcase cattle.
